The peace lasted until about 2am and then Scarlett joined us in bed. I woke up at one point and I was clinging onto the mattress with one bum cheek, how do I always end up on the edge even now we're in a kingsize bed?
A 6.30am wake up call arrived with shouts of 'the sun is out, up now.' And so our first full day of holiday began.
We decided on a day on the caravan site and picked Sensory Time and Messy Play as our two morning activities. It was the first time Scarlett would meet the dressed up characters, she didn't like it at all, she enjoyed it more when Anxious the Elephant disappeared. She wasn't keen on getting her hands in the shaving foam for sensory time and decided to wipe it all up with kitchen roll instead and swept up the crunchy cornflakes too. I think I've got a Cleaner on my hands!!!
Afternoon was swim time and that was fun, she's not had any swimming lessons but she's confident in the water and likes a good kick of her legs and shows no fear coming down the slides - I, on the other hand, hate swimming and I don't even like getting water on my face. I only go in the pool for Scarlett's sake, I've always disliked pools.
She's also had her first BBQ this evening, her food consisted of barmcakes, waffle and pasta shapes, followed by chocolate roll and jelly. She likes lots of foods but won't try many new things at the minute, her appetite has been good today though with all the fresh air she's had.
Not sure what the plan for tomorrow is, the weather will determine it.
Next time..... Out and about in North Wales
